Statement of Hizb-ut Tahrir /
Indonesia:
Solidarity Act
for Moslem in Rohingya
It is widely
reported that Buddhist extremist groups and
the Burmese regime suppressed and slaughtered Muslims in
Rakhine or Arakan, Burma. The
UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, reported that the attacks which
occurred since last June have killed more than 20,000
Muslims and displacing hundreds of thousands. International Amnesty also recognizes that
the Muslims in Burma have become victims of Buddhist extremist groups and the Burmese
authorities.
After decades of
discrimination, Muslims in Rohingya who have been living in Burma for
centuries are now stateless. The Burma regime continues its
brutality; restricting Muslim activity, robbing their lands and depriving them
of public services. These evil acts force them to flee to other countries like Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand. There are more than 500 thousand Muslims in Burma
whom were 10 million, (20% of the population). According
to UNHCR, about one million Muslims in Rohingya are now forced to live outside
of Myanmar,
but there is no third country willing to accept them permanently.
Through these
policies, the Burma regime clearly intends to kill out Muslims (Muslim
cleansing) as it is clearly understood from the murderous President of
Myanmar’s statement, Thein Sein “Myanmar will deport Rohingyans if there is
a third country willing to accept them.” For Thein Sein who acts cruelly to
his own people, there are only two solutions for Muslims in Rohingya: living
in camps or deportation.
What a sad
reality! Muslims in Rohingya are an integral part of
the 1.5 billion Muslims in the world.
So, how could the great number of Muslims
be unable to protect their persecuted brothers?
Where is the respectability of this Ummah? After all that happened to Muslims
in Pattani southern Thailand, Moro, South Filipinos,
as well as in Iraq,
Afghanistan
and Palestine demonstrate one thing: Muslims are weak
and helpless after the shade of
the Islamic world, the Caliphate, collapsed in
1924.
Therefore,
Hizbut Tahrir-Indonesia together with Islamic organizations will conduct a
series of solidarity actions throughout various cities in Indonesia starting
Friday, 3rd of August 2012. We:
1.
Condemnextremist Buddhists and the monks supporting the regime’s acts of violence
against Muslims, destroying their property, murdering them and evicting them
from Rohingya. This outrage should never be performed by civilized men.
2.
Demand that the Burmese regime to
immediately halt the brutality and all policies to slaughter Muslims in Arakan.
Burma
authorities should recognize Muslims in Rohingya as legitimate citizens and
give them their rights because they existed in these lands for centuries.
3.
Demand that the
Indonesia government as the leader of ASEAN to take effective action to stop
this cruelty and protect the immigrants of Rohingya who enter Indonesia
territory.
4.
Call on Muslims to take action together
as solidarity for the Muslims in Rohingya during this blessed Ramadhan, the
month of Jihad (syahrul Jihad). Furthermore we call upon the Muslims to
work and struggle together to re-establish the Islamic Caliphate. Only under the shade of Caliphate, the 1.5 billions Muslims can be strongly united,
thus protecting their dignity wherever they are, including the dignity of
Muslims in Rohingya. Thus, similar brutality will never recur. Inshaallah.
Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakiil, ni'mal mawla wa ni'man nashiir.
